Love Story- Handmade Journal

I almost forgot to post my craft for today. This day was a long but wonderful none the less!
So, the other day I was talking to my friend Lisa about my parent's "love story" and then it dawned on me. I haven't had the chance to write down the love story about them, about my in-laws or about us. Both parents (Albert's and mine have been married for 35+ years). Their love stories MUST be written down for me & for my son. I want him to know all the details. The ones I've been told by my parents, & all of mine as well! If I convince Albert to join me, teheheh he can write down his perspective too.
I used some cheap canvas material from Wal-Mart, and some of my stash! I sorted through my red buttons, brads, & bling to make the heart. I carefully stitched each one into the shape of a heart. Then, I hand stitched around the heart. I sewed a rectangle (using a sewing machine) for an extra touch. (Yup, its a bit to the side- oh well!) I then glued the canvas onto a piece of chipboard. I cut mine into a 6 1/5 X 8" rectangle.

On the inside, I folded the canvas and covered it with a red piece of card stock. I added a journaling tag and some plain white paper inside. Punch some holes, and add some binder rings...
Your journal is ready to be filled! I promise to get to those questions and show you a sweet mini album I am working on. ;) You can still enter in all giveaways. I will draw names on Friday! TFL!
***Giveaway****
This giveaway is for ANY 2 sets of Shabby Chic Crafts tags. This way, if you are not in the Valentine spirit, you can choose the ones you like. I understand! I still have some Halloween pictures to scrap. I'm a bit behind, but I'm just not in the mood to scrap Halloween. Anyway, leave a comment with your love story...if you want to share. ;) I will post a winner on Friday as well!
xoxo

My man and I met in the UK. In a backpackers hostel. We were a couple for a while, then broke up with no more contact... Months later we met again in South Africa and we've been together ever since...

My husband and I met online. Our first date was dinner at my house - something I would never allow my kids to do now! I love him more every day we are together.

At the end of the night I knew I wanted to see him again so I wrote my number in permanent marker on a $1 bill.He still has the dollar we smile everytime we see it. We have been together for 10 years this march and married for 7 years. We now have 3 children. Thanks for the idea I know the kids would love to read about Our Love Story someday.

My husband and I met the summer before I turned 16 and he was 19 and I had the biggest crush ever! But it would be 3 years before he would ask me on a date when I was 19. We have now been happily married for 22 years and have two beautiful daughters.

Love the giveaway and your ideas!!

I won't tell my love story...even though it is quite funny (but may be considered a little risque to some of your readers. haha)

My dh and I were high school sweethearts. We broke up during college. Then he joined the Navy and disappeared. 6 years later, he calls me out of the blue. We began a long distance relationship over the phone and email. Then I flew to Hawaii where he was stationed, got engaged and 7 months later we were married.

Sarah said...

Very cute!!!

We worked together, both engaged to someone else. Tragedy ended our relationships and we were friends for a while. He pursued me, my roomate pursued him. As I helped him get ready for a date one night and watched him walk out the door, I KNEW I just let the best thing in my life go. So, I waited and when he got home and she called to make sure he got home safely, I told her he was taken and from there, 14 years later with newborn twins, we're still going! And yep, we had to tell my roomate (YIKES!)

What an awesome idea!! I have never thought to document those very important stories -- and it would be a good thing to do while both mine and DH's parents are still around to tell them!! Thanks for the insp!

P.S. I'm so glad Cathy Z. shared your blog link! Lots of awesomeness here!!

Love that idea. I found your blog from Cathy Z, and I hope it is not too late for the giveaway.
My love story: I saw my future husband my very first day of college. He caught my attention. It took a bit to catch his, but once I did we were inseparable and have been ever since (16+ years later).

I knew my husband and he always told my cousins he wanted to date me, but I never listened. Finally a couple of years later we got together at a dance and dated. One year later we got married!

I met my hubs online. We went for dinner at a pub and to play pool on our first date. I kept beating him at pool and he said "One day we'll be able to tell our grandkids that grandma beat grandpa at pool on our first date." Normally I would have gone running in the other direction but with him it felt right. It took me a while to find him but I finally get to live the fairy tale!

I guess my "Love Story" is still being written, though the characters have yet to meet/be introduced. A few false starts and misadventures along the way...so we'll see how it all turns out one day! Thanks for the giveaway - love the buttons.

I met my husband at the local rec center when we were 16. We were with mutual friends playing Wallyball. We dated for a little while...broke up...stayed friends...married other people...divorced...and here we are now! We just celebrated our 11th anniversary!

I met the love of my life in a local Star Trek club even though neither of us is really a Trekkie. When I joined I was the sponsor for the Sci Fi club where I was teaching and I thought it would help me find events and activities for my students to participate in. It didn't. After a couple of months, Hubby joined and then he asked me out on April Fool's Day. I thought he was joking but he actually showed up and that was the first day of our life together. We got married less than a year later!

Oh - we left the club when we started dating. And that was over 10 years ago!

My hubbie and I met first in Jr. High when I was eleven and he was 13. He asked me to "go around w/ him" but I was too chicken. Then he moved schools the next year and I never saw him again until 15 years later at a wedding. He was dancing w/ my friend and as soon as the song ended I cut in, and we were inseperable after that. He proposed one year later and now we've been married 8 1/2 years and have 3 gorgeous kids!

I've known my husband more than half my life. Met him when he was a 16 year old boy and now, as an over 40 man, he is still the love of my life. Married 22 years. 2 beautiful children. Countless memories.

DH and I worked for the same company. When a co-worker of him wanted to date me DH realized that he disliked this a lot. A year later we were married...

I met my husband 17 years ago when he was working at a Jeep dealership. Rebounding from a bad breakup, I was determined to make myself feel better by buying a new vehicle. He just happened to wait on me. We dated FOREVER, but we've been married almost 11 years....and yes, we still have the 1992 Jeep Cherokee as our 3rd vehicle. :)

Our LOVE story depends on which of the two of us you ask. We can't agree on when we first met. I think we met on a job in San Francisco, CA and he says we met in Norfolk, VA. That was 15 plus years ago. I need to get both of our stories down. I guess the REAL story is to remain a mystery.

Your crafts are so cute, love all the texture you use! Okay, so my love story. DH and I met in the Phillippines our last year of high school. I had to move there my senior year and HATED leaving my hometown. But, I'm glad I went, I met my DH, and we were inseperable from the moment we met. DH even followed me all the way back here to Utah after we graduated. That's a whole other ESCAPE story on how he left the Philippines when he was 18! You see, in the Phillippines, you're not legally an adult unless you are 21. BUT, he was a US citizen, so he could leave!

My husband and I met in high school and became instant friends. We flirted like crazy and had our crush, but he never made a move so I assumed we were meant to be friends. After high school we parted, going to different colleges.

We ran into each other every year or so after high school, talking for a while and then drifting away. One year we ended up starting our first day at work waiting tables at the same restaurant together without having seen each other for 2 years. Imagine our surprise! It felt like fate but we were still not ready...

Six years later we ran into each other again and the fireworks went off. After knowing each other half our lives and living parellel in the same small town, we finally came together for good this time. We've been married one month!
