Something New!

Hello!!
I loved seeing all the trends at CHA last week. It seems like owls won't die. HA! This trend is going strong! I think the fawn is dead now. RIP Bambi. ;) They were cute while they lasted though.
I saw owls/birds everywhere at CHA. I don't mind much. I just can't use them as much as I would like. When we created new items this month, we decided to go with the flow and stick with the trend, until it too dies. It's just business. So, I personally created some more owls. Yup, I used Illustrator and created this cutie: Imagine that!? I can use Illustrator!!? *takes a bow* :)
Did you notice something else? Look at that cute shape! Something I absolutely LOVE are the different shapes we create. As an avid scrapper myself, I am not fond of the same old square, rectangle, circle journaling tags. Enough. Geez! It gets BORING! That and I hate when manufactures use the same design and just change the color over and OVER again. Ugh. Totally catch that every time! Once is all I can take. tehehe.
So anyway....
This is why I demanded that Albert make more unique shapes with each tag he designed this month. Change it up a bit! Sometimes the demands don't go far with him....this time, lucky for me & YOU, they did! *happy dance* Besides, it helps make Shabby Chic Crafts truly unique!

Another new change this month-Shabby Chic Crafts now offers different languages. How cool is that?We have so many wholesale orders pouring in from all over the world daily, it truly amazes me with every order I fill.
If you are from a different country visiting our blog today, please share our link with your local scrapbooking store & or favorite online shop. Let them know we are not like any other! Thanks, we truly appreciate it!
I have another giveaway. This is for a random pack of my favorite tags from our shop. There will be a good 20+ tags in this bag!
Let me know, How/Why you started this hobby (scrapbooking)?
**I started because I had just married my sweet hubs and had TONS of wedding pictures. So, I slowly opened up my box of pictures and started a wedding scrapbook...the rest is history!
xoxo,
Veronica

I started scrapbooking when I was very pregnant with my first child, way back in the winter of 2003. Seems like eons ago!

I started scrapbooking because I love to travel and had just started taking photographs with a manual camera, so was a bit snap-happy and had HEAPS of pics! I thought it was more productive to scrap all those pics than to just keep flipping through my Lonely Planet library, planning my next holiday!

I actually started scrapbooking before it really even existed! Back in college (mid-90s) I put my sorority pictures in an album using letters I had cut out of magazines. Once I had my first baby, I got back into it again.

I started because I had just gotten back from a trip and had a million (I'm exaggerating) photos. My SIL scrapbooked and she was SO excited that I had an interest in it. :-)

2 reasons - firstly, I got Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and couldn't quilt anymore (hence why I STILL have a wedding quilt in pieces for my friends who are on their 5th wedding anniversary and 2nd child !!) and secondly, I had a wee one myself and no family history to tell her ! Thanks for the opportunity !

My story is very similar to yours...except that I've barely touched the wedding/honeymoon photos. Haha.

I started scrapping almost a year ago because I wanted to have a cool wedding album. That one album turned into a much loved hobby.

I think my first "scrapbook" was my senior year high school memory book - I think it's still in my mom's closet somewhere! But when I started dating my now-hubby, and then we got married and had kids...I'd say that's when the creative side of me just being called back to paper scraps to make ALL those pictures look cuter! (Heck, even then, w/ film cameras, I took lots of photos...you can only imagine how many more I take w/ digital pics!!)

I started scrapbooking it high school (the 90s) and then really hit it hard when I had my first daughter ('97). I made each kid a scrapbook for each year of their life! Sheesh! After about 7 yrs of that I just didn't really scrapbook anymore. Now I just blog :)

I first went to a scrapbook store in college for a project in school...I was an art student. I was instantly hooked! The paper and the idea of doing something with all of my pictures instead of having them sitting in boxes or albums that no one sees. It was lame to have all of these pictures in albums and then no story or words with them!

I was already into scrapbooking (telling stories with my holidaypictures, and ad tickets and other paper-scraps) before I knew it as I do today! I've always been in love with "paper" and did a lot of rubberstamping, so when I found out about all scrapbookin stuff, everything fell into place!

I started scrapbooking because a scrapbook store opened in the same building as the gift shop I worked in. I spent more time in the scrapbook store than the gift shop and one day I just bought an album. I resisted for a long time (because I do not have kids) but I am so glad I started. Plus I love paper.

I started after many years of card making, thinking I had most of the supplies I needed and it would be a good way to preserve some of our family members! Ha! I have spent as least as much on scrapbooking as I did on stamping (and sold a lot of stamps to pay for it.) I wish I had started when my kids were young! I still make all the cards I send--over 300 last year.

I was at a trade show and a lady at one of the stalls asked if I want to sign up for a free class (after the show at a ladies house close to ours). One of my friends was doing it already so I went along... and that was all it took...

Marketing work....mmmm

I have to say that scrapbooking has been part of my life since I was a little girl. My mom handmade scrapbooks- and worked with us to fill the pages with art projects, brownie photos, sleep over photos..... and now with my own family... I can't imagine any other way of keeping my memories. I still have my old scrapbooks- and still look back to see how far I've come in designs and hairstyles! :D

I really started scrapbooking this past April while I was visiting my best friend in CA. I had thought about it but never thought I was "creative" enough! I have 2 young boys and knew it would be a great way to show their pictures!

i started scrapbooking with catalogs and construction paper way back when! In 1998, I went on a trip to Medjorgje (in Bosnia) and Rome and wanted to document it. I did that off and on for a few years then got serious about it after grad school. Scrapping helps me tell the story that the pictures don't tell.

It all started when I had a deep thought what I REALLY want to do to feed my boredom. A friend invited me to join a scrapbook beginner's class in 2007 and from thereon, the rest of my years are history! Plus all the products available are soooo irresistible! I like!

I looove the new shapes Veronica, and so thrilled that you are going worldwide with your yummy tags. You both deserve it.
I started, and My Mum loves to tell it, but I used to always say to both her and my sister" WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU WANT TO DO THAT?...LOL.Famous last words. For Christmas in 2005, they gave me a rolling tote with a whole heap of scrapping things, and that was the end of me.
I actually became so addicted, that I knew nearly every company and all their products...blush.So that is how I began.

I have been scraping since I was a child. I wanted a safe way to keep my favorite cards and other trinkets. Santa gave me a scrapbook that year.

I actually started scrapbooking with a newlywed friend of mine who discovered Creative Memories way back in 1996. Now it has grown into more than just scrapbooking but more like crafting!

I started scrapbooking because I had years of pictures in those old photo albums of our 2 grandbabies. Since then our 2 daughter have blessed us with 3 more grandbabies and number 6 will be born this year. I enjoy creating pages of our outing, holidays and those special moments with chocolate faces.

I have always sort of done scarbooking, I have loved putting together photo albums since I was a little girl, but now with all the cool products out it is so much more fun than just boring photo albums!

I got started because a sweet friend invited me to a Creative memories get together. She really just wanted to be able to get stuff for herself at a discount so she sold all of us stuff at the discount too. I bought an album, some templates to cut my photos into shapes (ha!) and adhesive and a marking pencil. I think it was 6 years later that I pulled that stuff out of the closet and gave it a try!!!

I started scrapping when friends took me to a Creative Memories 24 hour crop. I had a glue stick, cardstock and photos. Now, I have a full scraproom and several finished albums.

I started because I had a friend going through breast cancer and I wanted to give her something to lift her spirits. So I passed out paper to a bunch of her friends and co-workers and had them make pages then put them all together in and album along wth my own page and a title page, dedcation page, and final page. I got hooked.
