Green Week- Craft Pen Roll Up

I saw the cutest crayon roll-up in Fall '08 issue of Quilts & More Magazine. I loved it so much I thought I would sew one up for my craft pens. Not alone of course. I asked my crafty friend Lisa to help me make one. She helped me with the first one and it was a bit short, it is now Ethan's crayon roll-up. So, I tried for a second one, because I was on a roll! lol yes, I'm a dork. That was a bad joke. HA! Anyway, I used some beautiful GREEN fabrics I had been hoarding. The second time, was the charm. I simply altered the size a bit. ;) I used a fat quarter of the floral fabric (18" x 21" -approximately) & a fat 8th of the polka dot fabric (10 1/2" x 18"). I also used 2 ribbons the polka dot ribbon was for the outside (18") and a 36" of green ribbon to wrap around. Decorating the outside with a ribbon is totally optional.

It was pretty easy, after some fixed mistakes. lol I'm thinking of making another one for my nephew.

I'm horrible at instructions and I only took a picture of the finished roll-up. So, here is a great DIY I found online. Just alter the size with measurements stated above if you want it bigger.

Well, that is all I have today. I will be back tomorrow with another craft. :)

xoxo,

Veronica

http://flickr.com/photos/luvphotography/3318792191/ here is my take on the journal slipcover. The first one is also posted in my flickr but this one is the 2nd one. I find that the instructions when doing these things in the Quilts and More Mag. can be very confusing. And I too had help from my Boyfriends mother. I want to try that wrap one though. I was just thinking the other day how cool it would be to make one for all of my Make-up brushes...or yes even all of my favorite pens. My journal slipcovers were in the Quilts and Gifts mag. The one that displays until March 10th.
I love your blog and your daily posts. sooooo inspiring. And your roll up is gorgous!
