I absolutely love keeping scraps of paper with me at all times. In a time of cell phones, planners, laptops and such, I still use good ol'fashion scraps of paper to jot down numbers, emails or sketches. OLD SCHOOL...I know! I always keep something handy for the long waits at the post office, doctors, or playground. Trust me these little notebooks come in handy!
This is a tiny tutorial for a summer notes matchbook...
Things you will need:
- Shabby Chic Crafts (FREE summer tags)
- pattern paper (I used American Crafts & Scenic Route)
- tiny letters (type your own or MM)
- punches (Martha Stewart-lace border, Ek Sucess-scalloped square 2.25" & circle 1.25"
- craft knife
- sewing machine (optional)
- paper trimmer/scissors
Start by selecting your favorite summer papers and trimming them: width 2.5", length 5.25". I used my border punch on one end and fold the other end at 1/2" mark, fold again at 2".
Sew along the edge to add some dimension.
I punched a circle to decorate the front and cut a butterfly with my craft knife.
You can decorate the inside as well...
Print your free download & punch your tags using a scalloped square punch or cut with trimmer. Staple the tags inside (tuck inside the 1/2" flap). Fold your book.....
Ta-da! Your matchbook is ready to go!! Have fun creating your own!! Send us a link, I'd love to see how yours turns out! :) We have an awesome guest designer tomorrow! Til then....
