Hanging out + A Giveaway!

****WINNER****
Melissa said...
Oooh Veronica, that Green Tea frapps looks very nice and refreshing. My days consist of getting the kids to school, and myself too as I work there three days a week. Then come home and clean, organise my boys with homowork, dinner etc. Then at night, I have ME time....ahhhh bliss.I watch a bit of telly, computer, read mags and scrap if I feel like it.

Lately, the weather has been so good to us. It feels like spring. Very much flip-flop weather. In fact, Ethan and I make sure to hang outdoors more. That explains my absence here. Our days consist of park time:
(The sketch for this LO came from a magazine, not sure which one, BFF had it at last night's crop).
Sipping on green tea fraps: Reading my favorite magazines:
and late at night, designing more tags for our shop:

Which leads me to a wonderful giveaway. We have 4 new sets coming to our store this weekend. Nothing fancy....I actually made them myself. I was in need of some for my upcoming classes.

Giveaway*** Just leave me a comment, I would love to hear what your days consist of!? Winner gets 2 sets of our new tags (the ones above and month tags). Oh, and one last thing, if you are on Twitter, come and follow us.

Must go crash some cars with Ethan....

Classes

I have had several emails asking when I will teach again. That Fresno Bee article states I teach classes at my LSS. Oh, yeah, that's right...I'm a scrapper? hahah I have been so busy being the perfect domestic engineer, I kind of forgot about my hobby here. ooops!

I have 4 classes I'm working on at the moment. They will definitely be later next month and in April. Here are my thoughts on this. I would like to teach beginners, because lets face it, I'm no expert scrapper. Here's what I have in mind so far:

1. Basic technique class- (A simple layout).
2. Baby's first year -mini album
3. Pregnancy diary/mini Album
4. Disneyland mini album

If you live in the Fresno area, please let me know what interest you. I would love to hear your suggestions. The reason I have chosen these 4 themes is because most people start scrapbooking right after marriage, a baby, or a big vacation. I thought these themes would be perfect for the first time scrapper.
A pregnancy diary is something I always wanted to make for Ethan. I have tons of notes jotted on little strips of paper and pictures/ultrasound pics of those lovely 9 months. I finally got the ideas & put them in a mini album, Thought I would teach a class from that book!
I will be back tomorrow with pictures of my mini album plus a giveaway! :)

The Fresno Bee

Welcome new readers!
After several weeks of waiting....it is finally here!! Shabby Chic Crafts is in the Life section of the Fresno Bee!
I am in awe of the wonderful story in our local paper. It captures the true beauty of this hobby and our business! I was surprised to see our products on the front page of the Bee

& even more surprised to see that we had a front page story in the Life section. :D I'm blessed beyond measure without a doubt!
Also, just thought I would mention that I will be starting a week of "GREEN" crafts March 1st. *Mark your calendars* It's going to be fun!! I hope I can inspire you to scrap/craft "green".
Well, I technically haven't decided if it will run 2 weeks or just one. As we get closer to March, I'll let you know. I've already started on some projects to give myself a head start.

I will be crafting here and there. Thanks for stopping by!

I'm back!

Hello
I totally didn't mean to take such a long break away from blogging. :) I don't have any crafts to show. Just a quick post!
Ethan and I watched the Amgen Tour of California today.
Let me just say, that these athletes inspire in so many ways. Such dedicated athletes! I was hoping to take a peak at Lance Armstrong. He's in that picture somewhere! ;) We waited an hour in downtown Clovis. We didn't mind, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity that we could not miss. Ethan was ecstatic to say the least. He feeds off of emotions, and the crowd was filled with excitement!
An hour later, the cyclist came flying by. Stage 4 of the race, a crazy 115 miles from Merced into Clovis. Geez! Imagine that? Their sculpted bodies flew past us at 45-50 mph. Goodness!! The chills I felt just watching them was overwhelming, the pride in all us Clovis residents was quite the honor. A few quick seconds and they were gone.
I myself could not believe just how awesome each cyclist is. Thanks Amgen for that awesome experience!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Okay, so I'm a bit early. :)
I would like to apologize to all those Pink Paislee readers looking for those Love coupons. Sorry, I removed them. To make up for it I have made you some Valentine cards that fit perfect in a 4 bar envelope. :) These are FREE Printable Valentine cards. :) Perfect for the wife or hubby. My gift to you-my oh so awesome readers! Happy V-Day friends!
If you find yourself in a hurry tomorrow and have no time to head to the store....these are your last minute solution:
I printed these on textured card stock and my printer started acting up...ugh. I also made you a template for a 4 bar envelope. Didn't get a chance to test the envelope out thanks to said printer. I Hope this helps. Print + Cut = YAY!

I'm off- hope each and every one of you has a wonderful weekend full of chocolate and kisses ;) I myself plan to have a nice quiet night with the boys. Maybe a movie and pizza. Sounds good huh? Well, it does to me. :D

My Cozy Love

Hello!
It's a cool 52 degrees in central Cali and I'm loving it!
I thought I would make myself a quick V-day gift. Ethan and I have coffee dates once a week, well, he drinks a kid's chocolate soy milk and I drink my cup of joe! So, this was perfect for me. :) A re-usable coffee sleeve. I stitched some felt together and made a cute tree. Ha. My hand stitching sucks but my craft area is a HUGE mess at the moment and I can't find my sewing machine. lol So, I hand stitched this baby. This is the perfect gift for the coffee lover. :)

***Our article will be in the Fresno Bee tomorrow. It was pushed back a few weeks, but I can't wait to read it! For my local readers---Go get that paper! :)
Well, I'm off to my Wed. night crop. YAY!

Veronica

Valentine Pocket Notebook

Hello!
I am working on a special project at the moment. I am so excited about this! It's HUGE, so it will take some time before I can share. It's not Valentine related. lol
BUT...
I do have a Valentine project to share!
I sketch/doodle all the time on any piece of paper I can find, often it's old envelopes. lol I needed a cute little notebook at hand, so I made this cute little pocket book. Fits perfect in my purse!

It was super simple to make.
Supplies: Tag, pattern paper (JB), blank note paper/ blank, twine/string (I switched the twine with some MS peppermint twine), embroidery floss, paper piercer, trimmer & embellishments. I used Making Memories from last year.
Cut paper to fit in tag, I cut mine at 4.25" X 2". Cut as many as you like I cut 10 and folded them, this makes 20 pages (perfect for me). I punched 2 holes with my paper piercer and stitched the pages onto the cover, like so:
Tie the twine around the hole.I lined the inside of the tag with JB pattern paper. I also added an extra sheet before binding the pages to the cover:
Here is a peak inside my note book.
Well, that is all I have today. I can't show that LO because I forgot about the new policies for the DT I'm on. No sharing online. :)~ Oh, well....go make a cute LOVE notebook!

If you still need Valentines, we have our popular printables: HERE.

Unfinished business :)

Happy Monday!

Hope you had a great weekend. We had a birthday party to attend on Saturday & Sunday was dedicated to cleaning house. :)
I have been working on this Valentine photo banner for a week now, I just can't finish it. Does that ever happen to you? Does the inspo just die? Well looks like that has happened. I got so frustrated that I abandoned it on my desk. lol If I get back to it, I will post it. I had some DT projects to finish up too, *sigh* those are now out of the way. I also need to announce winners for the last 3 post....

Something New!

Hello!!
I loved seeing all the trends at CHA last week. It seems like owls won't die. HA! This trend is going strong! I think the fawn is dead now. RIP Bambi. ;) They were cute while they lasted though.
I saw owls/birds everywhere at CHA. I don't mind much. I just can't use them as much as I would like. When we created new items this month, we decided to go with the flow and stick with the trend, until it too dies. It's just business. So, I personally created some more owls. Yup, I used Illustrator and created this cutie: Imagine that!? I can use Illustrator!!? *takes a bow* :)
Did you notice something else? Look at that cute shape! Something I absolutely LOVE are the different shapes we create. As an avid scrapper myself, I am not fond of the same old square, rectangle, circle journaling tags. Enough. Geez! It gets BORING! That and I hate when manufactures use the same design and just change the color over and OVER again. Ugh. Totally catch that every time! Once is all I can take. tehehe.
So anyway....
This is why I demanded that Albert make more unique shapes with each tag he designed this month. Change it up a bit! Sometimes the demands don't go far with him....this time, lucky for me & YOU, they did! *happy dance* Besides, it helps make Shabby Chic Crafts truly unique!

Another new change this month-Shabby Chic Crafts now offers different languages. How cool is that?We have so many wholesale orders pouring in from all over the world daily, it truly amazes me with every order I fill.
If you are from a different country visiting our blog today, please share our link with your local scrapbooking store & or favorite online shop. Let them know we are not like any other! Thanks, we truly appreciate it!
I have another giveaway. This is for a random pack of my favorite tags from our shop. There will be a good 20+ tags in this bag!
Let me know, How/Why you started this hobby (scrapbooking)?
**I started because I had just married my sweet hubs and had TONS of wedding pictures. So, I slowly opened up my box of pictures and started a wedding scrapbook...the rest is history!

Veronica

Gumball Machine Valentine Card

I attended Wednesday night crop at my LSS today. I made this card: I spend the night chatting! Shame on me. This card was very simple. I punched a circle through a 5"X 5" card stock. I punched some mini hearts from red card stock, and sandwiched them in between 2 Chic circles from a Hambly overlay to make the gumball machine bubble.
Decorated the gumball machine with some pattern paper. Made a border with some rub-ons, and inked the edges. A quick and simple Valentine card!

Thanks for stopping by!

Valentine Mini Album

First, let me start off with the winner of our Calendar Tags: Angela W said...
Scrap at least 2 pages a week! I also have the project 365 going! I would love to get a little more organized. Those tags are wonderful, would love to win them!

I've been keeping up with Mara-May's "10 days of love". That girl can scrap! Anyway, she posted an acrylic mini album yesterday, far better than mine...but who's competing!? So, I thought I would share mine. Ignore the triple chin shot, seriously, it was a bad angle, and a Saturday morning of lounging. I shouldn't be explaining anything! haha. The close up is here. I should make a new one for this year, but I am still working on that banner. This banner is getting on my nerves! lol It requires older pictures and I have to dig through my external hard drive to find pictures from the past, that is always a pain! lol You know how it goes!
These mini's are perfect for the grandparents! Enough rambling! Here is last year's mini:

****GIVEAWAY****

I think another giveaway is due... I have stuff for your own mini album! I will pack a package with paper, embellishments and a Heavy Hambly overlay.

I love getting to know you. I know I have lurkers...but it's cool. I can be shy too. I understand you. ;) So, for those that love to comment. Please do so. I would like to know....What is your favorite movie?

I'll go first: I love, love the Notebook. Yeah, it's a total chick-flick, but what can I say, it's stink'n good! :)

Valentine Goodie Pouch

Whew! Thank you for all the wonderful comments and emails. I am all better and back to crafting. :) I made these cute Valentine pouches:I think these goodies are perfect for teachers, co-workers, neighbors, or if you get brave you can make these for your kid's classmates. I made these with my mommy group in mind. I used the candy I had in my pantry, for this picture only. I'll be using plain M&M's instead!
I found these on one of my favorite blogs. She makes everything look so simple. I love that about her style!
I changed her measurements up a bit to fit my clear bags. I cut a thick piece of card stock into 3" X 10" strip.
Fold in 3 sections-once in half (5") at (1") for the top flap and another at 6.25"
Cynthia used a square punch and I thought a scalloped punch would add a cute touch. If you have a heart punch...that might work best! Change it up all you want!
I think this is where I made a mistake...haha I was too generous with the candy! If you put enough to fill, but NOT stuff it like it's a life time supply...well, then, that should be fine.
I then decorated the outside with ribbon, paper hearts, and a scalloped border. I also used a tiny tag from here. If you plan on making tons and need the small tags only, shoot me an email to work something out.
I also made these little goodie bags a while back but forgot to post pictures. Our Valentine tags work great on tins or bags! *wink* I will post a winner for the calendar tags tomorrow. You still have time to enter. I have a photo banner I am diligently working on at the moment. I think you will love this idea or so I hope!

xoxo,

Veronica
