In a rut

I sat down to scrapbook these two pictures, and after pushing paper around for a bit, came up with this design.

I liked it, and was getting ready to start adding my embellishments and get gluing, when I realized I may have seen this design before.  A lot.

This is apparently my go-to design.  I decided I needed to switch it up a bit, you know get out of my design rut.  So I did what many scrapbookers do and headed to the internet to get some inspiration.  I didn't have to look any farther than our talented design team.  This layout by Magda really caught my eye.

I love how she makes different clusters, but yet they all fit together perfectly.  She is a master at white space, but yet the amount of details she uses is so inspiring. Not only was I inspired, but I was feeling quite inadequate due to her amazing photography skills.

Next, I found this fabulous layout from Adrienne.

She has the same clusters that I was drawn to in Magda's layout, and can I just say, PERFECT TAG PLACEMENT, which I love.  She used so much color and texture, but did a great job at featuring those cute photos. After seeing these two amazing layouts, I knew I could step out of my rut, and create something a bit different.

I really love that it's different from my norm, which as we saw before I tend to do often. Here are some closeups.

I was also inspired to use some Washi Tape after seeing the amazing projects the design team created for our Challenge Sunday.

Next time you find yourself in a rut, take a look at our amazing design team gallery and prepare to be inspired!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Love seeing this mental process...the before & after and the in-between inspiration that helped you enjoy mixing things up! Great inspiration!

Loved the way your inspiration is so visible on your finished layout. Great way to break out of your "rut", although I, for one really like your so called rut design, lol.
