Birthday Surprise

Hello Chic Tags fans!

Sherri here today to share with you a layout celebrating a recent birthday in our home.  Eden entered double digets two weeks ago.  A pretty big deal when you're 10.  She is the third of 3 girls, therefore making it a little difficult to know what to get her for Christmases and birthdays.  This year, however was an exception.  Eden is a HUGE Taylor Swift fan, and Taylor just happened to be coming to Winnipeg the weekend after Eden's birthday.  We decided to splurge on our baby and get her a gift she'd remember for a long time, a couple of tickets to the show.

Even though I prefer the look of only one or two photos on a page, I just had to make an exception and scrap all of these photos on the same page.  The look of sheer elation on her face was so perfect I wanted to include the series of photos on my layout.  The Birthday Cake Collection was, of course, just perfect to document this big occasion in our home.

Here are a few close ups.

It's easy to avoid using much patterned paper on a layout when you have several photos and a few packages of coordinating Chic Tags.  The little bursts of colour are all you need to compliment your photos regardless of the occasion.

Since I had all these materials still out, I decided to go ahead and create some thank you cards for the girls' teachers at the same time.  The Birthday Cake's "celebration" theme was perfect for the end of the year celebration that both the teaches and the students undeniably look forward to.  Have a look.  Please don't laugh, I am in no way the card maker our fabulous Evgenia is, and these papers are just scraps from my stash.

Hope you're feeling inspired to create something beautiful today!
