New every spring

Hello there!  Jennie here with a page that I'm excited to share with you.

As I've shared with you in the past there are a couple of designs that I'm automatically drawn to.  One is the grid, the other I'm sharing with you today, repeating strips of paper.

I personally think repeating strips serve a couple of purposes.  One, they are visually interesting and add depth to a page.  Two, they use up scraps.  So, it'd be a good way to use scraps of favorite pieces of paper.  Here's how I used them:

I used leftover pieces from my Scraptastic kit, Destination Unknown. (This kit included the Road Trip Snip 'Em Tags.  I love them so much I already used them all up!)  After the strips I added Everyday Life II A/B tags and hand stitched them to the page. (NO sewing machine here!)  Then?  A light layer of gesso over all of that.  Add a tiny bit of embellishing (the background is already pretty busy!) and journaling...then you're done!

Thanks for checking out my page today -- I'd love to see what you're making and I'd LOVE to see your take on yesterdays challenge!
