Project Life with Kasia

Hi everyone! I hope you are all enjoying your Saturday and this summer weekend:) It's Kasia here today and I would like to share with you few of my Project Life pages:) Let me start with explaining in few words about my approach to this project. I really wanted to try so popular these days pocket style scrapbooking but in the meantime I wasn't sure if I'm going to be able to keep up with weekly spreads. Also I wasn't really convinced about the big size- you know, my layouts are mostly 8''x8'' and filling the big pages full of pockets was a bit overwhelming. \

So at the beginning of June I thought about starting my Project Life inspired project but I wanted to customize it to suit my lifestyle and scrapbooking style. I picked smaller size of page protectors and instead of documenting weekly I divided my album into seasons. In my album I highlight some events, seasonal things, places we go, food we eat, but my goal definitely isn't to catch it all in.

The pages I'm showing you today are a little memory from our holiday in Poland last month. I spent there almost 3 weeks and when I came home I made a list of most important things which happened while I was in Warsaw. Than I picked 1 photograph to illustrate each of them and planned how I would like to have it all placed in page protectors.

After developing photographs I started building my pages. I tried to mix sizes of pockets to make these small pages more interesting but I kept in mind cohesive color schemes for each spread. Let me show you some details

I started with a little page about coming home, I layered everything on 4x6 card and added a circle journaling spot from Road Trip line to break the boxy composition of this mini page.

You know already that I love layering in my scrapbooking so I couldn't resist playing with it inside the pockets. To fill these two 3x4 pockets about my 26th birthday celebration I combined the labels and tags from Road Trip and Birthday Cake lines. They add some cute details and texture without making my cards too bulky.

On the next page I was looking for a way to visually connect 2 photographs which didn't match at all. I picked a Note Circle and cut it into 2 pieces which than I placed on the top of 2 4x6 cards. I love this little trick and I'm definitely going to repeat it later in my projects!

I also couldn't resist adding some cut files to my pages! I'm totally addicted to these Summer Titles which you can download from our Chic Tags Store for free! Keep an eye on Freebie Fridays here on the blog, there is something new every week!

To make my album more interesting I try to include something more than only photos, paper and journaling. I thought it would be fun to add this screenshot of my iPhone which I took after running my first 10k ever. I embellished it a bit and added a fun Circle Icon from Everyday Life II line!

When I was finishing off my pages I wanted to add some more fun elements here and there so I grabbed one of my most favorite Chic Tags products- 25 Days Tabs- I really think you should grab them with your next shopping! I use them all the time in my layouts and cards and used again to embellish my cards in this book!

I love working on this project, I love having a place to keep our memories in chronological orders, I love finding new ways to fill these little pockets with some fun stuff and memorabilias which we collect everyday! If you consider joining the Project Life adventure but still have some concerns maybe this post will help you decide :) Have a great weekend!
