Hi Chic Tags fans!! It's Stephanie here with you today to share a fun way to use tags as a base for your layout!! I love the colors of the Birthday Cake Labels and thought it would fun to try to use them as the building point for my page.
Shhh...don't tell anyone, but I will share my little design secret with you!
To start, all you need is some card stock or patterned paper for your background, a photo and some labels.
Ok...are you ready for my amazing "design" secret?? :)
Here it is...
That's right! Just flip over the packaging and check out the placement of the labels on the back. Often times, companies will "arrange" the contents in fun little patterns or designs! I always love to check out what's in the pack, but I really loooove looking at the design of the elements! Seriously...I can get inspiration from just about anywhere.
The above layout of the labels was the starting point for my page. I simply arranged the labels in a similar fashion as pictured and then placed my photo amongst the labels.
Then comes my favorite part....embellishing!!
Each of the little labels becomes an awesome spot for your favorite embellishments!! Just grab out your embellishments, play around and see what works for your layout!
I loved how the wood veneer looked with the colors of the labels so I added a few pieces, as well as few buttons and tags.
Here is a look at my finished layout....
Do you see how I pretty much stuck with the design on the back of the packaging, simply rearranging a few of the labels so I could squeeze in my picture.
Then I used the remaining labels as a building point for details....like titles, journaling, dates, etc.
It's just a fun way to play around with your supplies!!
Hope you enjoyed this little tip!! And I hope I have inspired you to look at your supplies in a different light!!
