I made this layout a little differently than I normally do. I wanted to create something interactive, so I made sort of a mini album on my page. First, I created a large pocket using the Happy Thoughts patterned paper to place a special note inside to my husband (our anniversary is next month).
Next, I layered different sizes of patterned paper and vellum on the left side of my page and stitched down the edge of them using my sewing machine to make smaller flaps that can be opened.
On the inside of the flaps I added my photos, letter stickers, and embellishments so they look just like mini pages.
I added a photo strip of all the recent photos of my hubby and I from the past few months and layered a few tags from the Happy Place collection on and around it.
On the last page, I placed a family photo that was taken back in June of all of us. I used lots of patterned paper and tags from the Good Tidings collection which works for any type of layout...not just
Christmas-themed pages :)
Here is a close-up of the top of the large pocket I created. I plan on writing a sentimental note to my hubby and sticking it inside...
I just love how well the gold contrasts with the red and woodgrain accents...such a perfect color combination for a loved-theme layout!
I hope I've inspired you to get more interactive with your layouts. Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!
