Week 8 Project Life in New Orleans

Hey everyone! Its Cathy here today with Week 8. I love our February Kit - and besides the obvious that its super adorable - but I loved that it steered away from the cheesy Valentine colors. Don't get me wrong - I LOVE pink and reds, but sometimes you get tired of it! I decided this week, the 4x6 slots were ONLY going to be for photos. I let the journal cards illustrate the rest!

I used the mistable DIY thickers, and simply colored them in with Deja Blue. The blue ink also brought out the "Lovely" stamp included in the kit. "February" was on the card already, so I just added some numerical alphas to illustrate the week's dates.

I layered a tag (awesome sauce) on top of the doilie journal card, I simply love combining things to make one card more embellished. I adhered the flair on top of the protector.

Captioning a photo is easy - just draw a line with a ruler and adhere a title with alphas. It brings the photo out more!

I took the panorama on my iphone 5. When you print them out, just simply print out one side at a time!

A vintage typewriter is great for journaling. I have weird size fonts in my handwriting, so when you are trying to tell a long story sometimes print is the best! I own a Smith-Corona vintage aqua typewriter. I love it because the ribbon is still available online!

The white line is drawn with the Uni-Ball signo pen. It is very opaque, but it takes a little skill to use since its gel and doesn't always write smoothly. Another great pen to use on dark photos is the chalk pen by American Crafts.
