Staycation Mini

Hey there...Jamie here...finally getting around to some Spring Break photos. Well, o.k...so I have started the cover. I'll take credit for that. Cause ya gotta start somewhere!!!

My husband and daughter were away for Spring Break. My oldest son was working. So it left just me and the littles hanging out together for their time off of school in March. And while we did not do any wild and crazy spring breaking, we did hang out around our town and had friends over and did a few things different from our every week routine. And I wanted a special mini album just for those photos.

This little book is sized to only about 6-inches wide. It is intended to slip into a pocket page of my Project Life album that pertains to this week.

As the April Kit (did you get yours?) is so springy and bright and playful, I put a lot of those elements to work on the cover.

I love die cut anything. So that 'staycation' die cut card was for sure going on the front of the album. But with a little twist. The card was folded in half. Two sides sewed up: the bottom and the open side. This left the top open. Then a tag was created from the School House Lessons pattern paper. This tag is sized perfect to slip inside the pocket, and it's cute dots now show through the die cut words. The pocket is adhered to the front of the mini album and will hold hidden journaling. Using the April Kit stamp, the banner image is stamped to graph paper and folded over as a little tab on the tag. Love it!

Something else I love about Chic Tags is how so many tags and stickers work back into the monthly kits. Here I mounted a few stickers from the School House Label Stickers onto card stock. I like the added height it gives. Then I inked the edges with pink mist, and added them to the front on the notched journal tag and pocket.

Have I mentioned the flair? I love the flair from this kit. It is just that...FUN!

Hoping this inspires you to tell a story you haven't yet. The April Kit has plenty to offer a 'go somewhere' vacation or a 'staycation' kind of story.
