Pocket Page Scrapbooking | 4th of July Week

Hello everyone! Suz here with you today to share my Pocket Page layout for June 30 through July 6th. I personally have found (over the many years I have been documenting with this form of scrapbooking) that creating my layouts in a Monday through Sunday format works best for me and that if I find I have a really busy week, or an especially busy weekend, that I will incorporate an extra weekend insert into my pages. This particular week I decided that instead of a weekend insert, I would make an end to the first half of my year and an end to my first album of 2014. Instead of an insert, I would use the back side of the right hand side of this 2 page spread to finish off the album. It just seemed like a good place to end it-what with 4th of July celebrating and the fact that my album was getting pretty full!

So here we go---on to my design.

I used quite a bit from the Cloud 9 collection this week along with a bit of Let's Go and Chic Tags patterned papers; little bits of wood veneers, tags, rub-ons, acetate tidbits and stickers scattered throughout. I used the acetate "yes" and the "this" tag to create an exclamation point for a little added emphasis of excitement to the addition of a new car to our household this week.
My son got a new skateboard deck with some birthday money and he and his best friend spent an evening with paint pens adding custom graphics. They turned out so cool!

Below I used some Chic Tags patterned papers along with some of the printed polka dot packaging from various Chic Tags goodies. I never let much go to waste and that polka dot print is too cute to throw away! Right?!

The two 3x4 cards (below left) were created to show how we remembered a sweet friend's little girl who was taken to heaven all too soon. Each of us honored her memory by enjoying a coke float.

The Right Hand Side (RHS) of my layout shows snippets of how we spent our 4th weekend, which included some tree pruning and clean up, time on the lake with friends, fireworks fun, and a fish fry.

Below I  broke out my new Instax Share SP-1 printer and added some rub-ons on top of the print.

And there you have it. One 4th of July week documented using patterned papers and embellishments all from Chic Tags! I love that the collections mix and match so well with one another.
Happy Saturday all! Enjoy!
