Cards or layouts, which do you like making best?? Hi friends, it's Mary Ann here today, and although I always seem to gravitate toward 12x12 layouts, making cards has actually become something I enjoy. They're quick and easy to make, and a great way to use up those leftover scraps of paper. I have 2 cards to share with you today, both were made with left over scraps of paper and like I said before, quick and easy to make too!
For this card, I started with my cardstock base, then added the polka dot paper (which is part of the packaging for journaling tags) and did a bit of machine stitching around the edges. I really wanted to use the You & Me mini icon, and liked the gray chevron and the yellow fab icon also, but the "fab" just didn't work. So here's a little tip for changing it up a bit.
I decided to use my heart punch to punch out the word "fab", but it was hard to hold it in just the right place to get the design all within the punch. So, to help make it easier, I used a piece of washi from my stash to tape the "fab" icon to a scrap of paper.
wood veneer sequins, and a few teal sequins from my stash. Remember when I said easy, yep, it really was!
sequin paper, then using another scrap of paper, layered on the polka dot piece that I cut into a banner shape. The "Doing a Little Happy Dance" square was added next with a row of zig-zag stitching, and then the darling bow tie flair button on top of that for a bit of dimension.
Thanks so much for stopping by today, and be sure to stop back by tomorrow to see what Malika has to share!!
