Hey everyone, it's Janine Langer here. Today I'd love to show you a layout I made, using blue accents. That doesn't sound very spectacular, I know, but for me it is. I am not a huge fan of the color blue, I love teal and turquoise, but you'll hardly find blue accents on my layouts, in our house or in my wardrobe (except blue jeans). It's just not my color.
But when I saw Chic Tags' Halloween Exclusives, I surprised myself. I immediately fell in love with the blue 3x4 card and the blue flair. Honestly, I didn't see that coming! I wanted to create a layout with those beautiful blue accents, but - I live in Germany.
Halloween is not really a big deal here yet. Fortunately I remembered that my son went to a Halloween Kids' Party at our neighbour's house some years ago and I was lucky enough to find a picture of him, dressed as a horrible, frightening vampire. ;)
It doesn't look like a Halloween layout immediately, but that's been the effect I
wanted to achieve. I used muted colors in this layout to bring out the blue accents even more
and I really do love how it turned out. :)
I also fell in love with the little pumpkin wood veneers that made a perfect addition to this layout.
I also added some string and two of these cute cork embellishments as well as a bit of stitching. Simple, but effective.
I hope I also could inspire you to use some colors on your layouts that you wouldn't go for at first.
Have a great day! :)
